A house elevation plot is a specialty service that is easily added on to any inspection. If you have other concerns about a home you’re considering purchasing, be sure to explore those concerns before signing any contracts. We offer this as an overview and informations purposes to help determine the need for further evaluation.

Texas has what we call expansive clay which expands and contracts with dry and wet conditions causing which can cause slipping floors (Settling). All homes settle over time, it is the degree of settling that can make the difference. Home elevation plotting will give you useful information to plan your next steps.

Have the floor leveled before you purchase it or have it further evaluated by an engineer or foundation company that is qualified. Monitor its condition to see if the sloping worsens. Use these inspection results as a base point to check again in two years and five years to see if further settling is occurring — perhaps the foundation is settling.
